She clutches her bear
when lonely
smokes sometimes
when she feels
uncomfortable
I am patient with her
like she is my therapist
she said I redefine love
and its culture
but she is all
I know of love
She is every good thing
only human still
We revolve around "reality"
study cultures
till we find our own
She feels like my home
We stack dreams
on top of oxytocin
because its the only thing
that will hold the weight
I can feel her arms
around my neck
her body against mine
even when she isn't there
When i met her
I dreamed
in some lifetime
she would love me
Until now
I wondered
if my Karma
was bad.
Delicious! Romantic!
ReplyDeleteThis floats such a universal sense of longing, belonging and fulfillment, made more delicate and worthwhile by feeling also unique to your pair of lovers. And an education about the oxytocin--you've used it as a very speaking image here. Music is perfect, also.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Theron. The last stanza puts it on a whole other level. The search for and emphasis on culture is quite interesting, especially how home is introduced. Another top notch poem.
ReplyDeletejust beautiful Theron..beautiful!
ReplyDeletestrange - i could've sworn i commented on this already...very honest and heartfelt piece..still like the same part most
ReplyDeleteShe is every good thing
only human still
This is as Desert says, just BEAUTIFUL. Nice one shot. Love and Light, Sender
ReplyDeleteKarma isn't 'ggod' or 'bad' - Karma just is, and it reflects back upon us as we do, like a mirror.
ReplyDelete(Judging from these words of love, I'm guessing you should count your reflections as 'good')
Intriguing poem. Says a lot but also leaves an air of mystery.
ReplyDeleteKarma's a bitch lol she gives you a taste of something then takes it away. Loved your style Theron. Will be back :)
ReplyDeleteSolid work, with some striking verses ("Wes stack dreams/. . . great stanza, as was the end-stanza.)
ReplyDeletepatient, therapist, oxytocin are words that give this piece a depth beyond the images and even beyond the feelings presented--good work.
ReplyDeleteHI Theron
ReplyDeleteIts so beautifully and emotional.. I could relate to this... a lot. I have been writing about this feeling for some time now...
I love your lines...
'I can feel her arms
around my neck
her body against mine
even when she isn't there'
