A Prayer 4 Desperate Hearts

Photo: Masquerade by permission from LifeThruBlueEyes by Diana Lee @Diana605

When you dream
I dream with you
When you cry
my soul cries too
I wish I could
make you see
how things will be
when you make it through
When love fails you
let it rest
When you fail love
you tried your best
When your whole experience
is in another's hands
When you're tied to things
you didn't plan
When you cant eat
and pay your rent
You did your job
but moneys sent
to duty
to culture
to that failing love
In moments when
you've had enough
I pray that you
would just hang on
and begin again
before too long
but understand
how you arrived
where you go next
you must decide

Amazing

  7. "When you dream
    I dream with you.
    When you cry
    my soul cries too."

What a beautiful evocation of love. In the face of such, how could there not be hope? But the failure of love can certainly rattle, can make all uncertain...Beautiful work.

  9. You've some excellent four-line structures throughout, addressing dreams and failure in particular. What I like best is a part that seems to diverge slightly from the structure...
    "You did your job
    but money's sent,
    to duty,
    to culture,
    to that failing love."
Well-expressed and adds a layer of structural texture to the overall poem.

On Killer Mike's new album Michael

I'm sorry to hear about Killer Mike's loss and the struggles of his family members. It takes courage to share these personal experiences with the world through music . Regarding his critical acclaim, it is important to recognize that mainstream media often fail to recognize and uplift voices from marginalized communities. These voices are often overlooked or condemned to the margins because it challenges the status quo and the dominant narrative . If you listen to Killer Mike's music, I hope you approach it with an open mind and an appreciation for his willingness to speak truth to power. I would hope that his message would inspire listeners to examine their own lives and the systems that contribute to inequality and oppression. In the fight for justice and equity, we need diverse voices to be heard and amplified. We must uplift and
