Who do you say I am?
and why do you say?
what makes you
see me that way?
when did I become
the person that you see?
when exactly did you
start to see me?
where was I?
where were you?
Did you know
that I can see you too?
why did you come
into my life?
why did you choose
me to teach?
Who do you say that I am?
what makes you say that?
when did you start to see?
where did you find me?
why did you come into my life?
I say that I am you.
I say that we are one.
I say that this
is how we
become free.
Psychologically.

too many questions that we seek for answers,
ReplyDeletehow can we ever find them?
or when we find them now..
the next day their meanings are changed.
Great re-mix my friend

You challenge, always
ReplyDeleteThe I of the beholder, indeed. Very existential love poem, and all the better for it, I think. Your work never disappoints.
ReplyDeleteto become one - one of the deepest mysteries..great write as always theron
ReplyDeleteWow what a torrent of questions... rhetorical, or the narrative Voice at least directs them at an unknown significant Other. The repetition/semi-repetition and sheer pace of this, reaching some depth of meaning quick quickly makes it a piece to be reckoned with.
ReplyDeleteGreat One Shot man, and I enjoyed coming to your blog

Quite a flow through questions. Such questioning, and the emphasis on speaking at the end, ties in perfect to the final word, "psychologically." Structure and meaning combine very well in your poem. Plus, the questions themselves seem to run the gamut from deep speculation to perhaps an interlude of levity. Cheers
ReplyDeleteI think that way a lot; I'm just not brave enough to write that way. I like it. Well done!
ReplyDeleteSmart-minded, identity-centric (the perceived exterior & the interior) seen from a first-person POV = excellent, provocative mix.
