Touch Me

If i hold your door for you
will that change your world for you
if i sweep you off your feet
satisfy your every need
will i be the one you see
or will you be
like the ones that vacation here
share my smokes and my beer
satisfy their need for love
their need for touch
away from home for awhile
where they dont get much
i have your flowers
i have your poems
i have this white horse
that will ride us off
into the sunset
i have a lifetime
of things to say about
your beauty
but not just outside
because if all you
are is beautiful
on the outside
then ill trade
you in a minute
for someone i
can have a
conversation with
just like you
would trade me
after i satisfy
you sexually
for a man with abs
or more money
but im still your
cyrano
i give you romance
in stereo
im that prince
that you seek
im whats missing
in your life
so for evolution
lets start a revolution
and break free
of these vicious circles
you be my Mariah
and ill be your Steve Irkel
and when you need a bad boy
i can play that role
ive seen it done
seen it told
and sold
i only want to see you
smiling
you dont even see
that everything you look
for is right here in me.
the only way youre
ever going to find
a man that has
everything you
want and need
is to create one.
beyond that its
random
like an electrical storm
or when its warm in december
im the man you want to remember
ill sing to you
and write you rhymes
the thing you have to see
is that i feel free to be me
and when you feel free to be you
you will understand what i do

  3. Acute, interrelatable, one that is a more-than-once read - this reminds of how I felt when I met my current girlfriend, though I don't think I stated my wants and intentions so thoroughly or so well. :)

  4. Gosh a dream for many women - except sometimes the right one doesn't get it.

This is so well crafted with emotion and a purpose

Nice One Shot or double shot my friend

  5. Always amazed with how you weave in references effortlessly. The importance of being understood is expressed with great feeling, a sense of longing pain. Outstanding lines and depth. cheers

  6. Such a modern relationship. Women traveling alone, hooking up, playing the Casanova, and the sensitive native is left somewhat in the dark as to whether she is genuine or just a playa. This couldn't be imagined before the 60s or 70s. And I'm not sure we're genetically wired for it yet. But you did a fabulous job of running the thought pattern of a guy falling for a girl in a tourist town. Thanks for posting, Gay @beachanny

  7. Interesting point of view here, Theron. Too often we've heard the tragic tale of the Other Woman waiting for a man to leave his wife/family to be with her. The Other Man's take is a bit different, yet essentially the same: They've both been left hollow and wanting.

    Another nice One Shot!

The 5 People Who Make Life Heaven

They listen when you need to talk Talk when you need to listen They know your darkness Let you know theirs Without judgement and expectation You can talk to them about how you see things They don't get angry or anxious when you disagree Trust you enough to say what they really think Read tweets and novels Never make you beg or grovel Won't allow it Remind you that you're better than that Lay some of their burden on you Let you behind their wall Feel welcome behind yours You feel each other with heart and mind Even if you don't explain yourself  They get you You get them These are the ones that make life worth living Make you love to be alive Reflect you to you Teach and learn Some days the lead singer Some days the band These are the ones You can count on one hand (c) Ron Kennedy

On Killer Mike's new album Michael

I'm sorry to hear about Killer Mike's loss and the struggles of his family members. It takes courage to share these personal experiences with the world through music . Regarding his critical acclaim, it is important to recognize that mainstream media often fail to recognize and uplift voices from marginalized communities. These voices are often overlooked or condemned to the margins because it challenges the status quo and the dominant narrative . If you listen to Killer Mike's music, I hope you approach it with an open mind and an appreciation for his willingness to speak truth to power. I would hope that his message would inspire listeners to examine their own lives and the systems that contribute to inequality and oppression. In the fight for justice and equity, we need diverse voices to be heard and amplified. We must uplift and
